This is where vision becomes reality, where your expertise helps clients create spaces that reflect their lifestyle, personality, and the way they want to live.
And now, we’re growing.
We’re looking for multiple Interior Design Consultants to join us as we launch our brand-new, state-of-the-art Gallery at Collins Square, one of Melbourne’s most premium and connected locations.
A WORKPLACE LIKE NO OTHER
You’ll be based in our newly launched Collins Square Gallery, a purpose-built environment designed to inspire both our clients and our team.
Think:
- A premium, light-filled Gallery space built for creativity and collaboration across three levels
- Immediate access to Melbourne’s best cafés, restaurants, and retail
- Seamless public transport connectivity, with trams, trains, and Southern Cross Station nearby
- A vibrant, professional precinct surrounded by leading brands and businesses
This isn’t just where you work, it’s where design conversations come alive.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking multiple Interior Design Consultants across both our Retail and Knockdown Rebuild (KDRB) streams to join our passionate, high-performing team.
Working primarily from our Collins Square Gallery (with occasional time at our St Kilda Road Gallery), you’ll guide clients through one of the most exciting stages of their journey, bringing their home to life through confident, considered interior design decisions.
As part of our expanding team, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our design experience, working alongside passionate professionals in a fast-evolving, high-impact space.
TWO PATHWAYS. ONE TEAM.
As we grow, we’re building a team that brings together both broad interior design capability and specialist KDRB expertise.
Interior Design Consultant – Retail
Working with clients building new homes, you’ll guide them through the selection of colours, finishes, fixtures and upgrades, helping them create a home that reflects their personal style and lifestyle.
You’ll be working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, delivering consistent and high-quality outcomes for every client.
This pathway is ideal for designers who:
- Thrive in client-facing environments
- Love bringing a client’s vision to life through design
- Have experience in residential colour consulting or volume building
Interior Design Consultant – Knockdown Rebuild (KDRB Specialist)
Working with clients undertaking Knockdown Rebuild projects, you’ll bring a deeper level of expertise to more complex and highly personalised design journeys.
These projects require the ability to balance creativity with practical constraints, delivering exceptional outcomes within defined timelines and budgets.
This pathway is ideal for designers who:
- Have experience in KDRB or highly customised residential projects
- Are confident managing more complex client briefs
- Enjoy working at a more tailored, premium end of the design experience
One Team, Shared Experience
Regardless of your pathway, you’ll be part of one collaborative team, delivering exceptional client experiences from our brand-new Collins Square Gallery.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Lead engaging, high-impact client consultations in a premium Gallery environment
- Prepare thoroughly to deliver seamless, professional appointment experiences
- Provide expert guidance on colour schemes, finishes, fixtures, and upgrades
- Confidently support clients through their interior design selections
- Accurately document selections, variations, and specifications within required timeframes
- Collaborate closely with sales and internal teams to ensure a smooth client journey
- Stay ahead of design trends, materials, and innovations to inspire and inform clients
WHO YOU ARE
You’re not just creative - you’re confident, commercially aware, and thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
Most importantly, you bring a strong passion for interior design and client experience whether that’s within volume residential or more specialised KDRB projects.
You’ll also bring:
- A qualification in Interior Design, Decoration, or a related field
- Proven experience in colour consulting, ideally within residential construction
- Strong ability to read and interpret floor plans with accuracy and confidence
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
- Outstanding communication skills and a natural ability to build trust and rapport
- A proactive, team-focused mindset with a drive to achieve targets and deliver excellence
This is a role for someone who wants to stand out, take ownership, and be part of something genuinely exciting.
WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT
This is more than a design role,
it’s a chance to:
- Work in a premium, purpose-built Gallery environment at Collins Square
- Be part of a growing team with multiple opportunities available
- Develop your expertise across both retail and KDRB design pathways
- Partner closely with clients during one of the most exciting stages of their journey
- Help shape the next chapter of Simonds’ design experience
