WHY TEAM SIMONDS?

The Simonds story all started in 1949 with a passionate family man, Gary Simonds. He envisioned a builder that Australians could rely on to guide them through the process of crafting their perfect home. This vision remains at the heart of Simonds today with our commitment to making the Great Australian Dream a reality by placing home ownership within Australia’s reach.

Becoming part of Team Simonds means becoming part of the family. Our people are the heart of what we do. Our homes are built for the community, by the community, with a local network of employees, trades and suppliers all working towards this vision. It is this passion, dedication, and excellence that you will find on every Simonds job site, office, and display centre across the country. Today, we stand proudly as an ASX listed & leading national builder servicing customers across Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, and New South Wales.

Simonds has helped shape Australia. Few can say that. Whether we’re looking back at the homes of yesteryear, what we’re building now, or everything that’s still to come. We’ve not only shaped what Australia looks like, but more importantly, how Australia homes.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a full-time Production Estimator to join our high-performing Display team at our brand-new Collins Square office.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a collaborative team that values growth, teamwork, and delivering quality outcomes.

In this role, you'll play a key part in preparing precise construction orders for display homes across the country, ensuring all documentation is clear, accurate, and ready for use by our construction teams, suppliers, and contractors, all within set timeframes.

The role is built around three key functions:

  1. Delivering accurate estimates for all display homes
  2. Managing and updating orders throughout the entire construction lifecycle
  3. Offering technical advice and support to internal stakeholders

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Performing accurate quantity take-offs
  • Creating and updating detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for Displays under construction
  • Sourcing and verifying quotes and pricing
  • Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Maintaining well-organised records and documentation
  • Meeting deadlines and achieving performance targets
  • Supporting site supervisors with estimating requirements

WHO YOU ARE

Previous experience in estimating within the building and construction industry will be highly regarded, as will a relevant tertiary or TAFE qualification. However, just as important is your positive attitude, willingness to learn, and motivation to grow within the role.

A sound understanding of the Residential Building Code and Australian Standards is essential, along with strong analytical thinking and the ability to confidently interpret technical drawings. You will be a clear and effective communicator who thrives in a collaborative team environment and is focused on achieving set targets and KPIs.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need excellent attention to detail, strong planning and organisational skills, and the ability to manage your time effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
