WHY TEAM SIMONDS?
The Simonds story began in 1949 with Gary Simonds, a passionate family man who set out to build homes Australians could trust. His vision remains at the heart of everything we do: helping more Australians realise the Great Australian Dream by making home ownership accessible and meaningful.
Joining Team Simonds means becoming part of a close-knit, purpose-driven family. Our people are at the heart of what we do - building homes for the community, by the community. From our job sites and display centres to our offices and customer care teams, you’ll find passion and excellence, care and pride in every part of the business.
Today, as a leading national builder and ASX-listed company, we support customers across Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and New South Wales. For over 75 years, we’ve not only shaped what Australia looks like, but more importantly, how Australia homes.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an energetic and service-focused People Business Partner to join our People & Culture team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, hands-on HR support to our leaders and employees across the full employee lifecycle.
As a key contact for your allocated business unit, you’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations—from recruitment and onboarding through to performance, employee relations and compliance. This role is ideal for a true HR generalist who thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment and enjoys helping managers navigate everyday people matters with confidence and care.
In this role, you will:
- Provide responsive, practical HR advice to managers and employees across a range of lifecycle activities.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes, in partnership with our Talent Acquisition team.
- Assist with policy interpretation and ensure consistent application across your division.
- Support the resolution of employee relations matters including grievances and performance issues.
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation in HR systems.
- Participate in or lead small-scale HR projects aligned to our employee experience goals.
- Ensure HR processes are compliant with legal and company standards.
- Build trusted, service-driven relationships with your stakeholders and be a reliable go-to for HR support.
WHAT YOU WILL OFFER
We're looking for a proactive, dynamic and engaging People Business Partner with a strong operational focus and a passion for delivering exceptional internal service. Ideally, you will bring:
- 3+ years of HR generalist experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of Fair Work legislation, employment awards, and HR policy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility.
- Experience in advising line managers on performance, behaviour, and compliance issues.
- Strong attention to detail and a knack for balancing tasks and priorities.
- Confidence using HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.
- A “can-do” mindset and a genuine commitment to helping people succeed.
- Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, or a related discipline (or working towards completion).
WHY JOIN US?
Aside from a fantastic opportunity to join one of Australia's leading ASX listed residential builders, Simonds can offer you:
- Great benefits across a wide range of products and services including a generous discount on our award-winning homes as well as all the great things that go in them.
- Access to our free employee well-being program, including counselling, nutritional, financial, and legal support for both you and your immediate family.
- Access to Simonds Reward Days – receive an extra day of leave per year.
- Opportunities for professional and personal growth through our Learning and Development programs on our inhouse Simonds Learning platform.
- Generous rewards and recognition.
A commensurate remuneration package will be negotiated with the right candidate.
If this sounds like your next opportunity, we'd love to hear from you as soon as possible!
Please note: You must have unlimited Australian work rights to be considered for this role.
