THE OPPORTUNITY
Join our dynamic team in this exciting role as an IT Operations Support Engineer. Your primary goal will be ensuring the seamless functionality and optimal performance of our technology systems for end users.
Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and the timely resolution of IT-related issues to enhance overall user productivity and satisfaction.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT problems through systematic analysis.
- Log, prioritise, and manage support tickets using incident tracking systems.
- Utilise remote assistance tools for efficient issue resolution.
- Maintain documentation of common issues, resolutions, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to ensure optimal end-user experience.
- Enforce IT policies and procedures to maintain a secure and compliant technology environment.
WHO YOU ARE
We are looking for a candidate with:
- A tertiary qualification in IT related discipline with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues efficiently.
- Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS/iOS, Android), networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and desktop applications (Microsoft Office, etc).
- Competence with Active Directory, deployment tools (such as Intune), and security software.
- Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting peripherals like printers, keyboards, and headsets.
- Experience using a ticketing management system.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to remain calm during incidents.
- Proactive and creative problem-solver, willing to learn new tools and techniques.
- Driver’s license and willingness to travel to different Simonds’ sites (e.g., Display Homes.
