WHY TEAM SIMONDS?

The Simonds story all started in 1949 with a passionate family man, Gary Simonds. He envisioned a builder that Australians could rely on to guide them through the process of crafting their perfect home. This vision remains at the heart of Simonds today with our commitment to making the Great Australian Dream a reality by placing home ownership within Australia’s reach.

Becoming part of Team Simonds means becoming part of the family. Our people are the heart of what we do. Our homes are built for the community, by the community, with a local network of employees, trades and supplies all working towards this vision. It is this passion, dedication, and excellence that you will find on every Simonds job site, office, and display centre across the country. Today, we stand proudly as an ASX listed & leading national builder servicing customers across Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.

Simonds has helped shape Australia. Few can say that. Whether we’re looking back at the homes of yesteryear, what we’re building now, or everything that’s still to come. We’ve not only shaped what Australia looks like, but more importantly, how Australia homes.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an opportunity to influence operational excellence across a leading ASX-listed residential builder, shaping how we deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers, teams, and business.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the State Operations Manager is a key leadership role responsible for executing the operational strategy across Victoria, ensuring consistent, efficient, and high-quality delivery across production, construction, and customer journey functions.

This role will translate national operational direction into state-based execution, driving performance across key operational metrics including site starts, cycle time, productivity, and customer satisfaction. With responsibility across regional operations, this position will play a critical role in strengthening operational performance, improving ways of working, and ensuring alignment between Sales, Operations, and Construction teams.

Leading a team of Operations Managers and functional Team Leaders, you will provide strategic direction, build capability, and create a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

This is a highly visible role requiring regular engagement across our regional locations, with the ability to influence stakeholders, identify opportunities, and drive meaningful outcomes across a complex operational environment.

WHO YOU ARE

You are an experienced operations leader with a proven track record of managing large-scale operational functions and delivering results through people, process, and performance.

You will bring strong commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret financial data, manage performance against targets, identify risks and opportunities, and make informed decisions that balance customer outcomes, operational efficiency, and cost.

You are a strategic thinker who can translate business objectives into practical action plans, while remaining close enough to operations to understand challenges and drive sustainable improvements. You build strong relationships across functions and are confident influencing stakeholders across Sales, Construction, Production, and Corporate teams.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience leading operations at a leadership level within a complex, multi-site environment.
  • Strong financial and commercial capability, with experience managing budgets, performance metrics, and operational outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience driving process improvement, change initiatives, and operational transformation.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse teams.
  • A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to improving end-to-end customer outcomes.
  • Experience within residential construction, property, manufacturing, or a similar operationally complex industry will be highly regarded.
