 THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a suitably qualified Production Draftsperson on a full-time, on-going basis at our Loganholme office. As a Draftsperson, your primary focus is to prepare and update drawings as per client requests, and to ensure that the drawings are completed in a timely manner. Some key accountabilities of this role include:

  • Site dwellings to comply with developer guidelines, local council and energy rating requirements
  • Design bench level for site works 
  • Liaise with professional consultants, planning authorities and key suppliers
  • Draft tender and contact drawings for appointments
  • Assist with production enquiries
  • Check files prior to issuing final drawing
  • Assist with projects relevant to department plans and agreed strategy
  • Undertake tasks as assigned on scheduling system and ensure are completed accurately and within agreed timeframes
  • Liaise with Drafting Team Leader regarding any Drafting related concerns
  • Work in cooperation with other teams to assist in pre-site and production queries, when required
  • Be proactive and show initiative, helping to anticipate and flag potential issues before they occur
  • Be open and receptive to feedback, seeing it as an opportunity to learn and grow professionally
  • Help to develop and implement improved worked practices and processes to improve efficiency
  • Collaborate and consult with the wider Operations team to deliver exceptional customer service across all aspects of the home build
  • Participate in team meetings and activities, demonstrating respect and consideration to all parties
  • Keep up to date with all Simonds policies, practices, and procedures
  • Always act in the best interest of the company, in line with the Code of Conduct and Group policies
  • Liaise with key suppliers & professional consultants

 

WHO YOU ARE

You will have strong, demonstrated experience in reading and producing working drawings. A tertiary/TAFE drafting qualification (or equivalent experience) and a background in residential construction is highly desirable.

In addition, a thorough working knowledge of Revit software and the National Construction Code (NCC) is required, along with good analytical skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office,  experience in production drafting within the residential construction industry and strong attention to detail. You will be able to work efficiently and have excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with existing team members.

A strong customer focus, the capacity to multi-task and have a flexible approach to work are pivotal to being successful in this role. We are looking for an exceptional communicator who is able to use their previous experience working as a team to achieve set targets and KPIs. High attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines and have demonstrated planning, organisational and time management skills are desired.
