Our Product Development team are looking for a full-time Master Designer/Detailer (Draftsperson), based at our Head Office on St Kilda Road. As a Master Designer/Detailer, you are responsible for developing Master Schematic Designs (MSD) & Construction Details in conjunction with the Designer’s sketch, and in preparation with the final Master Drawings.

Some key accountabilities can include:

  • Develop and complete MSDs & Construction Details in line with construction, specification standards and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that variations, product improvement or maintenance requests are incorporated as standard into prepared documentation
  • Prepare accurate documentation for Purchasing, Construction, BOQ and Masters to utilize for pricing for the end product
  • Follow Simonds guidelines and standards relating to the drafting method and procedures
  • Help to create efficiencies and improvements within the Product Development team


We’re looking for a team member who has:

  • Diploma in Drafting (preferred)
  • Experience in residential volume building (minimum five years preferred)
  • Well-developed design skills (minimum two years preferred)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and the use of x-ref/active block features
  • High standard of analytical drawing accuracy
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work well autonomously.
