We are seeking a full time Workplace Health Safety & Environment (WHSE) Manager,

A key requirement of this role is to travel to various and many jobs sites across Victoria. There may also be requirements to travel interstate periodically.

This role is based at one of the many Simonds Homes offices closest to you. Reporting to the National WHSEQ Manager, some of the key accountabilities of this role include:

  • Work collaboratively with all staff, notably the Construction & Maintenance staff
  • Liaise with the Building Managers within each Building team taking instruction on items to target and also training for staff
  • Control the audit processes and document management for assigned regions
  • Manage multiple safety registers, inventory of signage and other safety related materials
  • Collate data and statistics for company reports
  • Develop and deliver safety plans in various workplace settings according to legal requirements
  • Investigate any incidents and report to management
  • Ensure the complaint delivery of the WHS component for new employees and contractor inductions
  • Maintain a strong focus of safety requirements on our construction sites, offices and display homes
  • Participate in the development and delivery of company safety training to our employees.

Please note: This role requires the successful candidate to have a Cert IV of Workplace Health and Safety, and further qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety are desirable. The incumbent must also have a current/valid driver’s licence and a Construction Induction Card.


In order to be successful in this role, you will possess the following qualities:

  • Sound understanding and foundation of WHS regulations and
  • A passion for ensuring a safe and productive working environment
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to always acting in the best interest of the business
  • Passion and commitment to appropriately educating others on WHS.

The skills that will make you stand out are:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in the building industry (mandatory, residential building experience is desirable)
  • Strong administration skills across the Microsoft Office suite
  • Outstanding communication skills, possess the ability to work across a diverse workforce
  • Ability to build rapport across all levels of the business and a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work well both autonomously and in a team environment
  • Up for a challenge!
