We are seeking a suitably qualified Draftsperson on a full-time, on-going basis at our South Morang office. As a Draftsperson, your primary focus is to prepare and update drawings as per client requests, and to ensure that the drawings are completed in a timely manner. Some key accountabilities of this role include:

  • 12 months AutoCAD experience;
  • Check files prior to issuing final drawing including Contracts, Drawings, Engineering;
  • Liaise with professional consultants, planning authorities and key suppliers;
  • Assist with enquiries from both Internal and External clients;
  • Site dwellings to comply with developer guidelines, local council and energy rating requirements;
  • Design bench level for site works;
  • Assist with projects relevant to department plans and agreed strategy;
  • Draft tender and contact drawings for appointments; &
  • Work within a small team based in multiple office locations.


You will have strong, demonstrated experience in reading and producing working drawings. A tertiary/TAFE drafting qualification (or equivalent experience) and a background in residential construction is highly desirable.

In addition, a thorough working knowledge of AutoCAD and BCA/rescode is required, along with good analytical skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office. A strong customer focus, the capacity to multi-task and have a flexible approach to work are pivotal to being successful in this role.

We are looking for an exceptional communicator who is able to use their previous experience working as a team to achieve set targets and KPIs. High attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines and have demonstrated planning, organisational and time management skills are desired.

Please note this role is required to be in the office (either in part or in full). As per State government guidelines you must be able to provide evidence of receiving two doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccination (or valid medical exemption) to work in an office.
