We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant, to support our Finance team. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, some key accountabilities of this role include:

  • Prepare and maintain integrity of the general ledger accounts that form the basis of the Simonds consolidated P&L and balance sheet.
  • Provide timely and accurate consolidation and reporting which complies with Simonds accounting policies.
  • Ensure balance sheet account reconciliations are accurate and completed on time.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, procedures and policies in the finance function.


Ideally, we are looking for someone who has:

  • A tertiary degree/diploma in Finance related discipline (preferred)
  • CA or CPA qualified (or in process of completion)
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a similar finance role
  • An ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence relevant stakeholders.
  • An ability to act as change catalyst and adopt continuous improvement mandate.
  • Knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Problem solving and financial analysis skills.
  • Planning and project management skills, with high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritise conflicting tasks and deadlines.
