Based on the principle of “builders training builders”, BAA draws on its deep connections to Simonds Homes to ensure it provides the highest quality curriculum and training services to meet industry needs. In 2018 and again in 2020, BAA was recognised as the Victorian Small Training Provider of the Year, and in 2020 was also recognised as the winner of their category at the Australian Training Awards.

BAA includes two RTO's: House of Learning Pty Ltd trading as Builders Academy Australia (National RTO Code 21583) & City-Wide Building & Training Services Pty LTD trading as CWBTS (National RTO Code 91138). With close to 3500 active students, BAA/CWBTS delivers pre-apprenticeships through to Advanced Diploma level qualifications across 4 Australian states.


This important role will work closely with the Training Manager – Operations, and Apprenticeship Manager, to coordinate Trainers and Assessors delivering within New South Wales, Queensland, and the Australian Capital Territory. This is currently 15 Trainers/Assessors delivering across Pre-Apprenticeship, Apprenticeship and Traineeship modes in these states.

This Training Manager role, will work in combination with other departments to coordinate the delivery of apprenticeships and traineeships, ensuring that only the highest quality training delivery occurs to achieve great outcomes for students and employers. In addition to this hands-on focus in ensuring that each apprentice and trainee’s journey with BAA/CWBTS is a positive one, a focus will be required on effective relationship management with Trainers/Assessors as well as a range of stakeholders and business partners.

Although this role can be based at either our Tweed Heads (NSW), Loganholme (QLD) or Melbourne offices, a small amount of travel will be required on occasions to meet with direct reports for professional development days or similar events.

Although this role is offered at full-time, applicants looking at part time roles will also be considered.


We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on individual who upholds the highest standards and will lead by example. You will have demonstrated success in a similar senior role within an RTO environment and have a commitment to ensuring best practice.

It will be critical that the successful applicant can create and foster close working relationships with all key staff within the team. To do this they will be a good communicator, supportive and have a 'can-do' attitude.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading and supporting high performing teams in the tertiary education sector including multi-disciplinary departments with a focus on Apprenticeships and Traineeships;
  • Hold an operational current working knowledge of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 (RTO Standards);
  • Have experience regarding operational and compliance requirements in relation to Apprenticeships and Traineeship delivery;
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in TAE or higher level educational qualifications (desirable);
  • Ability to meet ASQA Fit & Proper persons requirements.
