Builders Academy Australia (BAA) and City-Wide Building & Training Services are Registered Training Organisation’s (RTO) that work with employers, industry and students to achieve exceptional training results. BAA was established by Simonds Homes in 2005 for the purpose of training Simonds staff and the staff of Simonds suppliers and partners in VET courses in the residential construction sector.

Based on the principle of “builders training builders”, BAA draws on its deep connections to Simonds Homes to ensure it provides the highest quality curriculum and training services to meet industry needs. In 2018 and again in 2020, BAA was recognised as the Victorian Small Training Provider of the Year after being a finalist for the same award in 2017. CWBTS has also been recognised as a finalist for the Small Training Provider of the Year category at the 2021 NSW Training Awards.

BAA includes two RTO's: House of Learning Pty Ltd trading as Builders Academy Australia (National RTO Code 21583) & City-Wide Building & Training Services Pty LTD trading as CWBTS (National RTO Code 91138) both part of Simonds Group Ltd. With close to 3500 active students, BAA and CWBTS deliver pre-apprenticeships through to Advanced Diploma level qualifications across 4 Australian states.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This important role will support the Student Enrolment and Student Engagement processes for New South Wales apprenticeship and traineeship students, helping students through their enrolment processes and then also providing support for students across their studies to maximize their opportunities for completion of the qualification that they are studying.

The successful applicant will be based in Melbourne out of our St Kilda Rd office yet may also choose to work remotely for days as agreed with Management. This role is primarily office based, and contact will commonly be via the phone to help students understand their opportunities for study with the RTO, as well as the completion of their enrolment documentation. This role will also contact employers to ensure that apprenticeship and traineeship delivery occurring is aligned with their needs.

This role will require advanced interpersonal skills to engage with a range of employers and a broad range of students utilizing effective relationship management and customer service techniques. 

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with demonstrated success in a similar role within an RTO or employer/employment solutions/apprenticeship centre environment and who has a commitment to ensuring best practice and great student and employer results.

It will be important that the successful applicant can create and foster close working relationships with all key staff within the team as well as external stakeholders. To do this they will be a good communicator, supportive and have a 'can-do' attitude.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Have a track record in building strong relationships with major customers, clients and external employers;
  • Hold in depth knowledge of operational requirements regarding apprenticeship or traineeship delivery in order to promote these models to students and employers with experience in promoting trades training highly considered;
  • Having supported students through enrolment processes under the NSW Smart & Skilled funding arrangements;
  • Have the ability to travel (on occasions) as required for student enrolment support;
  • Able to effectively engage with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Experience in using Student Management System -VETtrak (highly desired);
  • Previous experience using a sales/CRM software and maintaining and updating a CRM database such as SalesForce (advantages);
  • Qualification/s in sales, customer service, business administration or similar (desirable); and
  • Ability to meet ASQA Fit & Proper persons requirements;
