We are seeking a Development Estimator to support the Research and Development team, based at our head office on St Kilda Rd. This key role will ensure that all master BOQs and associated upgrade options are estimated accurately and within the pre-agreed time frames. Reporting to the BOQ and Retail Pricing Manager, some key accountabilities of this role include:

  • Perform accurate quantity take offs
  • Create and maintain the master bill of quantities
  • Assist in the development of new designs (buildability checks etc.)
  • Review onshore and offshore estimating work for accuracy
  • Provide accurate pricing for contracts and variations including appropriate margin considerations
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors
  • Provide support to site supervisors and production estimating team
  • Find and implement efficiencies in the estimating process
  • Variation price book maintenance


Ideally, we are looking for someone who has:

  • Strong, demonstrated estimating experience within the residential building and construction industry
  • Tertiary/TAFE qualification in Building and Construction
  • Practical understanding of Timberline and WMS (advantageous)
  • Current working knowledge of the Residential Building Code and Australian Standards (BCA) / (NCC)
  • Analytical skills and competency reading architectural plans, engineering and reports
  • Strong numerical skills, high attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Exceptional communicator with a strong customer focus
  • Ability to proactively problem solve and troubleshoot
