Working with senior management, the Project Manager will play a key role in our newly formed projects team, based at our head office on St Kilda Rd. The role encompasses all aspects of PM work on Australian Standard D&C contracts, plus responsibility for production planning and a hands on approach to ensure on time completion of pre-construction tasks including estimating, drafting, approvals related activities and contract compliance. Progress monitoring and reporting using MS Project and Framework is a vital component to provide visibility of critical path tasks to ensure project objectives are met. It’s a fast paced environment with a focus on getting results on time. Key accountabilities include:

  • Liaising with Superintendent and client Project Manager 
  • Liaising with project consultants – engineers / councils / water authorities
  • Job set up in reporting systems
  • Coordination of pre-construction tasks
  • Maintaining accurate progress reports
  • Contributing to process development
  • Workflow production planning & follow up
  • Preliminaries orders and cost control
  • Town planning coordination with consultants
  • Document storage, transmittal and version control
  • Local industry development plan reporting and compliance
  • Coordination of demolition activities
  • Contractual notices including extensions of time, latent conditions, variations and claims
  • Coordination of practical completion requirements
  • Participation in Project Control Group meetings

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the domestic medium density building industry
  • Knowledge of Australian Standard (AS) design & construct contracts & associated terminology
  • Exposure to administration or construction of housing projects under AS contracts
  • Contract administration experience – client side or builder side
  • MS Project experience
  • Ability to interpret documentation including working drawings, specifications & schedules
  • Knowledge of town planning process
  • Proven ability to solve problems, mitigate risks and resolve conflict
  • Demonstrated planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Excellence in written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated business acumen
