Builders Academy Australia (BAA), provides the Australian building and construction industry with outstanding industry-trained building and construction tradespeople. Based on the principle of "builders training builders", BAA draws on its deep connections to Simonds Homes to ensure it provides the highest quality curriculum and training services to meet industry needs. In 2020 BAA was announced as the Victorian Small Training Provider of the Year at the Victorian Training Awards.


We are currently seeking, qualified and experienced Trainers and Assessors to deliver the CPC30211 Certificate III Carpentry on a contract basis around various metropolitan locations in the North, South, East and West of Melbourne.

Reporting to the Training Manager - Operations, we have a range of hours available for teaching (8.30am – 5.00pm) which may take place in either face to face or online facilitation.

Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • The delivery and assessment of the CPC30211 Certificate III Carpentry
  • The review, validation, moderation and continuous improvement of the training resources and assessments for the qualifications above
  • Consulting with key clients on their existing and future workforce training needs


To be considered for this role, you must hold/be: 

  • Recent industry experience (of at least 5 years and current)
  • CPC30211 Certificate III Carpentry or equivalent qualifications or have sufficient and current vocational competence that would allow for a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process to be completed
  • TAE40110 or TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Able to work as a Sole Trader with a current ABN
  • A current drivers license
  • Demonstrated ability in high level communication, negotiation and consultation skills and expertise in providing high level advice on a range of complex matters
  • Self-motivated and confident; have a positive attitude and willingness to embrace change
  • Strong relationship building skills with expertise in the effective management of diverse internal and external stakeholder groups
  • A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
  • Sound knowledge of operational requirements in relation to the Standards for Registered Training Organisations

You will possess an interest in imparting your industry knowledge to those eager to learn and expand their Building careers. You have a strong customer focus, and the ability to multi-task and be flexible and adaptable in your approach.

You will be an exceptional communicator, who is able to work well both autonomously and in a team environment. Additionally, you have the capability to build rapport and have demonstrated planning, organisational and time management skills which are crucial to the role.
