We are seeking a Cost Analyst. This key role will analyse, identify, and report back findings and recommendations to limit the amount of margin erosion incurred nationally. Reporting to the National Procurement Manager, some key accountabilities of this role include:

  • Review and report on all ETS’s approved nationally by region and variance type
  • Thorough investigation, analysis and insight into root causes deriving variance.
  • Compare job orders raised to standard to identify opportunities, targeting quantity and value variances
  • Analysing and reporting on preliminary costs incurred prior to site start
  • Identify re-charges due to incorrect ordering and ETS approvals
  • Review internal calculators to ensure consistency and accuracy, recommend changes where necessary
  • Audit site costs budgets vs actual
  • Job Profit reporting review targeting margin erosion
  • Monitoring trend movements on ETS incurred over and above standard orders, in particular site works
  • Review Economic classified ETS to track trade rate movement in regions
  • Reporting monthly findings and putting forward recommendations and areas for improvement
  • Working closely with internal departments to understand context and provide feedback


Ideally, we are looking for someone who has:

  • A broad knowledge of Building and Construction activities to produce quality analysis
  • A strong understanding of how a job is ordered and Bill of Quantities should be referenced
  • A proven background in providing meaningful analysis to senior management level
  • Ability to appreciate change management process in large organisation
  • Ability to make accurate and complex calculations
  • Ability to communicate cross functionally
  • A valid driver's licence (mandatory)
  • An eagerness to learn and be a part of a supportive team
