Builders Academy Australia (BAA) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that works with employers, industry and students to achieve exceptional training results. BAA was established by Simonds in 2005 for the purpose of training Simonds staff and the staff of Simonds suppliers and partners in VET courses in the residential construction sector.

Based on the principle of “builders training builders”, BAA draws on its deep connections to Simonds Homes to ensure it provides the highest quality curriculum and training services to meet industry needs. In 2018, BAA was recognised as the Victorian Small Training Provider of the Year after being a finalist for the same award in 2017.

BAA includes two RTO's: House of Learning Pty Ltd trading as Builders Academy Australia (National RTO Code 21583) & City-Wide Building & Training Services Pty LTD trading as CWBTS (National RTO Code 91138).


Reporting to the National Sales and Operations Manager, and working out of our St Kilda Rd, Melbourne office, this important role directly Manages the Course Advisor, Student Enrolment and Student Engagement teams.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual who has a hands on focus, a drive to bring the best out of their team and a commitment to ensuring customer service best practice in an industry leading RTO.

Key Tasks include;

  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement and innovation strongly aligned with organizational values and high quality student learning outcomes;
  • Providing strategic people leadership, coaching and training with a focus on developing and implementing streamlined functions, communications and sustainable operational excellence across the student admissions and engagement areas of the business;
  • Ensuring the team/s meet and exceed both individual and team KPI targets;
  • Ensuring that team members provide accurate enrolment advice and support to a variety of internal and external stakeholders primarily via a call centre environment;
  • Working with other departments towards planning future course dates and course offerings;
  • Liaising closely with key departments to ensure smooth execution of quality processes and ensuring that all regulatory and funding contract requirements are being met;
  • Implementing and maintaining quality assurance systems, to ensure all quality and compliance requirements are met and exceeded within the department;
  • Ensuring the accurate and efficient use of systems including VETtrak and New Voice Media is occurring by team members allow for streamlined student admissions processes;
  • Maximizing lead conversion by implementing strategies to ensure effective lead management and student retention strategies;
  • Developing reports and presentations on for Management that will aid in making informed decisions about marketing, sales, enrolments, student re-engagement and business improvements.


We are seeking a highly motivated individual who has a commitment to ensuring best practice customer experience in an industry leading RTO. This role will suit those who have previous RTO Enrolments/Admission Team Leader/Coordinator experience, a deep understanding of student suitability and admissions processes and ideally be experienced within a phone based student contact environment.

It will be important that the successful applicant can create and foster close working relationships with all key staff within the team. To do this they will be a good communicator, energetic approach and have a 'can-do' attitude.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading and supporting high performing teams in the tertiary education sector;
  • Hold a deep current working knowledge of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 (RTO Standards) in relation to student enrolments and suitability assessments;
  • Hold in depth knowledge of operational requirements in relation to State and Federal funding contracts which may include: Skills First (required), Certificate 3 Guarantee (advantages), Higher Level Skills & User Choice (advantages), Smart & Skilled (NSW) (advantages) and VET Student Loans (advantages);
  • Have experience regarding operational and compliance requirements in relation to the admission of International students (advantages yet not essential);
  • Ability to meet ASQA Fit & Proper persons requirements;
  • Strong sales/customer service team managerial experience, including a proven record of meeting and exceeding targets/KPIs;
  • Proven ability to effectively lead a team in a call centre environment, preferably within the VET sector;
  • Experience using VETtrak and training others on its best practice use (advantages);
  • Able to effectively engage with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Please note: Our student enrolment, pre-training review and admissions team members work varied hours therefore availability between 8:30 am – 6:30pm Monday to Friday may be required.
