THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a full-time Sales Manager for our new arm of the business, Start Point. As the Sales Manager for Start Point QLD, you will be responsible for overseeing the QLD Start Point sales team in addition to developing systems and processes in order to integrate Start Point into the broader Simonds business. For example, establishing a comprehensive sales training and development program and QLD sales business plan. Some key deliverables and accountabilities of this role include:

  • Develop and implement a sales strategy that ensures sales volumes outperform the market.
  • Develop a high performance, high caliber Sales team.
  • Create a robust sales process that ensures quality outcomes for Simonds and its customers.
  • Produce strong margin outcomes for the state.
  • Implement a sales process that ensures an industry leading customer experience.
  • Manage the engagement of Sales Consultant contractors and also sales personnel.

WHO YOU ARE

To be successful in this role, we're looking for someone who has:

  • Well-developed sales skills including relevant industry knowledge and a track record of consistent and high level sales achievements.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams and individuals in the achievement of positive outcomes.
  • Ability to engender respect and develop and maintain a strong and positive team culture.
  • Ability to deliver and monitor key organisational strategies in line with organisational priorities.
  • Ability to lead and deliver quality operational and business outcomes which support the organisation’s strategic direction. 
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and consultation skills.
  • Relationship building skills with expertise in managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a leadership team.
  • Ability to effectively manage people and performance; ranging from employing new staff, engaging with new contractors, and effectively managing both employees and the engagement of contractors to achieve superior sales results.
