We are seeking a Sales Manager for a new arm of the business - Start Point. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for working with other functional managers to develop appropriate systems to integrate Start Point into the broader Simonds business, as well as establish a comprehensive sales training and development plan and sales business plan. Some key deliverables and accountabilities of this role include:

  • Develop and implement a strategy that ensures sales volumes outperform the market.
  • Develop a high performance, high caliber Sales team.
  • Embrace the finance first sales philosophy, leading by example.
  • Create a robust sales process that ensures quality outcomes for Simonds and its customers.
  • Produce strong margin outcomes.
  • Implement a sales process that ensures industry leading customer experience.
  • Increase/improve relevant social media ratings.


To be successful in this role, we're looking for someone who has:

  • Well-developed sales skills including relevant industry knowledge and a track record of consistent and high level sales achievements.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams and individuals in the achievement of positive outcomes.
  • Ability to engender respect and develop and maintain a strong and positive team culture.
  • Ability to deliver and monitor key organisational strategies in line with organisational priorities.
  • Ability to lead and deliver quality operational and business outcomes which support the organisation’s strategic direction. 
  • Effective communication, negotiation and consultation skills.
  • Relationship building skills with expertise in managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a leadership team.
  • Ability to effectively manage people and performance; ranging from employing new staff through to performance managing staff members to achieve superior results.
