Builders Academy Australia (BAA) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that works with employers, industry and students to achieve exceptional training results. BAA was established by Simonds in 2005 for the purpose of training Simonds staff and the staff of Simonds suppliers and partners in VET courses in the residential construction sector.

Based on the principle of “builders training builders”, BAA draws on its deep connections to Simonds Homes to ensure it provides the highest quality curriculum and training services to meet industry needs. In 2018, BAA was recognised as the Victorian Small Training Provider of the Year after being a finalist for the same award in 2017.

BAA includes two RTO's: House of Learning Pty Ltd trading as Builders Academy Australia (National RTO Code 21583 - CRICOS Provider Code:03760B) & City-Wide Building & Training Services Pty LTD trading as CWBTS (National RTO Code 91138).

THE OPPORTUNITY

This important role will aid in the coordination of processes aligned with sourcing and enrolling international students within the RTO. Builders Academy Australia, in 2019 was approved for its initial delivery to international students and although the RTO is very successful in the domestic market, delivery to international students is a new area of focus.

Based out of our St Kilda Rd, Melbourne office, this role will complete regular communication with agents and prospective students and ensure that processes for attracting and onboarding new students are effective and aligned with the requirements of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS Act) and National Code.

Although this role is offered at full-time, applicants looking at part time roles will also be considered.

Key Tasks include;

This role is to undertake the following key tasks:

  • Aiding the Compliance department in the writing, reviewing, updating and implementing policy and procedure documents relating to the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS Act);
  • Liaising closely with key departments to ensure smooth execution of quality processes and providing advice relating to the onboarding and training of international students;
  • Screening and processing international student enrolments with attention to necessary entry checks including Visa requirements;
  • Administration and compliance of international student files including the creation of letters of offer and managing PRISM’s;
  • Organising and implementing student orientations for new intakes of international students;
  • Ensuring that team members, meet all requirements when monitoring and reporting student attendance and course progression;
  • Liaising with agents to provide current information about international study options;
  • Ensuring all activities from third parties, including agents, who work with the RTO to support international students, are completed in an ethical and professional manner;
  • Issuing offer letters and entering data in PRISMS;
  • Maintain relationships with education agents including assisting them with course inquiries, commission and complaint resolutions;
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement and innovation strongly aligned with organizational values and high quality student learning outcomes.

 

WHO YOU ARE

We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on individual who upholds the highest standards and will lead by example in supporting international students to begin their studies with Builders Academy Australia. You will have demonstrated success in a similar role within an RTO environment and have a commitment to ensuring best practice.

It will be important that the successful applicant can create and foster close working relationships with all key staff within the team as well as external stakeholders. To do this they will be a good communicator, supportive and have a 'can-do' attitude.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Have a sound knowledge of the international student market including all regulatory and operational requirements e.g. Visa’s, ESOS act, IELTS, COE’s, National code, PRISMS etc.;
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a supportive team environment;
  • High level of proficiency in computer usage including the Microsoft suite of products;
  • Be experienced in the recruitment of international students and the promotion of educational services;
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, including well-developed cultural sensitivity and cross-cultural communication skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing effective marketing activities from planning to implementation in an international environment, including evidence of using market intelligence and research;
  • Qualifications in training, business or administration (desired)
  • Ability to meet ASQA Fit & Proper persons requirements.
