Builders Academy Australia, provides the Australian building and construction industry with outstanding industry-trained building and construction tradespeople. Based on the principle of "builders training builders", BAA draws on its deep connections to Simonds Homes to ensure it provides the highest quality curriculum and training services to meet industry needs.


We are currently seeking experienced Trainers & Assessors to deliver the CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) and/or CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building). Both classroom and online workshop facilitation is available.

Trainers are currently needed at various metropolitan locations in the North, South, East and West of Melbourne for weekday and weeknight classes (currently approximately two to four nights per week). Your key purpose will be to ensure high quality delivery of training and assessment services to students within the classes in which you deliver.


You will have current industry experience (within the last two years) working within the building and construction industry. You will have sound knowledge of the theoretical and practical foundations of your discipline, and have shown an ability to motivate and mentor students through your real life workplace experience.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be passionate about education, and have a clear understanding of adult learning principles.

For those applying to deliver Building and Construction qualifications your industry experience must be categorised as professional or para-professional within the construction industry. 

You will have the following:

  • Equivalent qualifications of which is intended to be delivered or be able to show current evidence to be sufficient for an RPL process to occur.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 or TAE40116).
  • Relevant occupational registration or licensing.
  • Relevant teaching and training experience of a minimum of two years within an RTO/TAFE (desired).
  • Demonstrated ability to complete training documentation in line with company policies and procedures to set deadlines.

Successful candidates will be required to submit evidence of their qualifications and experience prior to commencing employment.
