Simonds homes is looking for a motivated and adaptable Production Estimator. This full-time role is based out of our Bendigo office.

The ideal candidate will be eager to take on challenges however you will also exhibit a structured and stable manner. You will be detailed and concise, able to follow procedure and deliver accurate cost estimates to construction. You will work within a team environment that is positive, productive and process driven. The team is guided by a team leader who instills a culture of efficiency through open, honest and approachable working relationships.

Reporting to the Estimating Team Leader (Victoria Greater North region), some of the key accountabilities of this role include:

  • Be able to work in an efficient and dependable manner;
  • Effectively manage workflow, deliver quality and consistency;
  • Deliver accurate cost estimates in line with the contract agreement and specifications;
  • Provide a high level of knowledge in volume residential building;
  • Work with the construction team as required to assist in pre-site and on-site queries;
  • Order, receive, and check engineering, truss/wall computations, energy ratings and quotes where applicable;
  • Check final drawings and final variation schedules as required to ensure the accuracy of the final estimate;
  • Liaise and collaborate with external suppliers in a polite, professional and constructive manner.
  • Proficient in the use of programs such as WMS and Timberline (training will be provided)



  • Previous estimating experience in either construction or related industry (Essential)
  • Knowledge of Residential Building Code and Australian Standards (Essential)
  • Strong analytical skills and the capability to interpret technical drawings, including manual take-offs (Essential)
  • A tertiary/TAFE building qualification in estimating (Preferred but not Essential)
  • Experience working towards both team and individual targets and KPIs
  • Great communication skills and a team player
